Special Thanks to TTM Collector Ken Lynch, who let us know about the Major League Baseball 2008 All-Star fan fest.
The event will be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on the following dates.
Saturday, July 12, 2008
Sunday, July 13, 2008
Monday, July 14, 2008
Tuesday, July 15, 2008
The event will have plenty of interactive attractions for fans to enjoy including live entertainment and free autographs from retired Major League baseball players.
As more details are made available, I will update this page.
The Fanfest and possibly the Future's Game are probably the only events that an average family will be able to attend, as you can see based on ticket prices available on the internet.
Future's Game [Sunday July 13, 2008]
Home Run Derby [Monday July 14, 2008]
All-Star Game [Tuesday, July 15, 2008]
2008 All-Star Game will be played in the current Yankee Stadium in it's final season before the new Yankee Stadium opens in 2009, which as you can see from the picture below, Alex is anxiously awaiting, as he overlooks the construction efforts.
There have been three previous All-Star games played at Yankee Stadium, and each year resulted in an appearance in the World Series for the New York Yankees.
1939 American League won 3-1 (World Series: New York Yankees beat the Cincinnati Reds 4 games to none)
1960 National League won 6-0 (World Series: Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York Yankees 4 games to 3)
1977 National League won 7-5 (World Series: New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4 games to 2)
