2007 Topps Derek Jeter Card With George Bush |
There's been quite a stir lately surrounding the release of 2007 Topps Baseball, or more specifically card number 40 in the set, which features New York Yankees superstar shortstop Derek Jeter.Upon closer examination of the card, you will notice the card also includes a photoshopped George W. Bush and deceased Yankees Hall Of Famer Mickey Mantle.
While the card is not as notorious as the 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken card which had the words "F***k Face" on the handle, this is clearly a practical joke by a Topps employee.
Topps supposedly knew about it, and let the card go through anyway, to avoid shipping delays.
The card will be changed when Topps issues a complete set at mid-season, but as of now doing a search on ebay for completed items type in "jeter bush 2007 topps", will return 6,885 matches. The 2007 Topps card is card number 40 in the set.
The leader of the free world and President of the United States George W. Bush can be seen waving in the stands. He looks very happy for someone missing his left arm. Mickey Mantle can be seen in the dugout waiting for his turn to bat, while Derek Jeter follows through on his swing.
2007 Topps Opening Day Jeter Card
In the 2007 Topps Opening Day baseball release the card is corrected. The 2007 Topps Opening Day cards feature a white border and is card number 46 in the set.
