Sending 8x10 Photos TTM

While searching the web for details on how to send an 8 x 10 photo through the mail, there was very little information on how to do this, so I decided to put something together based on what I've found. If you have something you'd like to add, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page to let us know.

The outer envelope which will be addressed to the player should be larger than the photo mailer envelope which is about 8 3/4 x 11 to accommodate an 8 x 10 photograph.

Sending 8 x 10 Photos Through The Mail A 9 x 12 Catalog Envelope (Staples Item 260612 - Model 260612/19295) will work, but it will be an extremely tight fit, and the player will most likely need to rip the envelope to get the photo mail out.

I wouldn't risk making things harder or possibly causing any frustration for the player, and would use a 10x13 Catalog Envelope (Staples Item 478157 - Model 478157/14231) instead.

For the return SASE I suggest using an 8 1/2 x 11 Photo Mailer which is made of rigid cardboard to protect the photo from bending, has a Pull & Seal closure, and "Do Not Bend Or Fold" already marked on the outside of the envelope.

You can't get a straight answer from the post office. It seems like they're making things up as they go along sometimes. And if you go to different post offices, sometimes you get different rates.

The very first ones I sent before the increase where two $0.39 cent stamps. After the increase I got a whole song and dance about them not being able to bend the item, and how the US Postal Service considers this a Large Envelope, and the postage needed was $1.48 each way.

I'll try another Post Office, and see what their interpretation of the new increase means.
