Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left foot. The move Tuesday was retroactive to Sunday, when Jones woke up unable to walk on the foot after fouling a ball off it Saturday night against Seattle. In his first full season, the 23-year-old Jones has played solid defense, and his bat has steadily improved.
