Inscription: I'm sorry I can't remember the date of my major league debut, but I pitched against the Detroit Tigers. I relieved Carl Scheib in the 3rd inning and pitched 10 Innings of no-hit ball. Wally Moses, our right fielder hit a 3 run homer in the 13th to give me my first big league win. I was very nervous of course and walked a few batters, and I believe I struck out 7 batters. It was quite an experience that I shall never forget. I wish to wish Alex all the luck in the world if he is pursuing a major league life. It's the greatest life, and it was the best 16 years of my life. I hope you can read my writing because at 83 years of age, I'm not writing too many letters. Sincerely Bobby Shantz
