David Huff did not sign our custom index card, but instead sent us two signed cards of his own, and a personalized letter, which was really cool! You gotta love it when players make the extra effort for fans! It's what makes this such a great hobby! We hope to see him in the majors for Cleveland soon.
Dear Frank,
Sorry about the delay responding to your request. It has been an average year for me because I spent so much of the season rehabbing a tricep strain. However, it is good to go now! I just finished a short fall season in Arizona that went well and gave me a lot of confidence heading into the off-season. Thank you for the encouraging words in your letter and I wish you and your family the best during this holiday season.
Congratulations on the birth of your son. What a great smile! The only words of wisdom I have are to work hard, never give up, and practice, practice, and practice. Baseball is a game of failures. You can fail 70% of the time and still be considered a good hitter with a .300 average. Finally and the most important, do what you love and love what you're doing!
