I attended the New York Yankees game on Friday June 6, 2008 against the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium, and got to meet Harlan Chamberlain, who is in town to watch his son Joba Chamberlain's start on Sunday. He was gracious enough to sign my ticket stub, and personalize it to my son Alex who wasn't with me.
Joba Chamberlain, who is very close to his father, took a leave of absence from the Yankees in April after his father was hospitalized at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Harlan Chamberlain who contracted polio during childhood was at the stadium in his trademark motorized red scooter, and is as nice in person as he appears on TV.
