Evan Longoria locked up for 6 years

Ok maybe the title could be a little misleading, he wasn't actually "Locked Up", but after playing in a grand total of 6 MLB games, the Tampa Bay Rays saw enough in Evan Longoria to lock him to a long-term contract for the next six years.

Evan Longoria was gracious enough to sign for us through the mail c/o the Montgomery Biscuits on 04/24/2007. The 6-2, 210 pound third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays, turns 23 on October 7, 2008, was the 1st round pick (3rd overall) in the 2006 Draft out of Long Beach State.

The contract is the longest in Rays history, and is for six years guaranteed at $17.5 million. The contract also contains 3 years of club options, which can push the contract's value to nine years $44 million.
