Cobb received the most votes of any player on the 1936 inaugural Hall of Fame Ballot, including the immortal Babe Ruth.

He holds the record for the highest career batting average (.366), which I believe will never be broken.

Ty Cob was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1936, and passed away in 1961.

Roy Campanella Statue

Campanella was a catcher in the Negro Leagues and then in the Major Leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest catchers in baseball history.

On January 28, 1958 he was in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed, and confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life.

Roy Campanella was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969, and passed away in 1993.

Johnny Podres Statue

In the seventh game of the series, Johnny Podres gave up 8 hits in a complete game shutout in which the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 2-0.

Johnny Podres was kind enough to sign this picture of Alex near his statue.

Satchel Paige Statue

After not being allowed to play in the majors due to it's color barrier, he was given a chance to play by the Cleveland Indians in 1948 at the age of 42, and would help them win the World Series over the Boston Braves in that same year.

He was elected into the Hall Of Fame in 1971, and passed away in 1982.
